Welding, also known as pulse arc welding or micro TIG welding, uses electrical energy to create a high-temperature plasma, which melts metal in a very small spot. This process takes milliseconds and is clean, safe, and controllable. This format of welding is perfect for closing loops of metal (jump rings) to secure chain ends into a bracelet.

Permanent jewellery is a customised bracelet or
anklet that is closed using a small welding machine. The jewellery has no clasp, so in theory it is ‘permanent!’ It’s not something you take on and off
when you go to bed or shower.

The welding machine uses electricity to heat & melt the jump ring together. This arc of electricity will only be created once the metal is grounded; once our grounding pliers are attached we are ready to complete the weld and touch the electrode.

The welded collection is available to anyone 13 years of age and up. Any younger and we can offer the same bracelets with a clasp fitted (£5 for silver £15 for gold). Under 16’s need to be accompanied by an adult.

It’s important to consider the safety and school regulations
of bracelets on school age children- we’d recommend getting a clasp fitted. For
younger clients, please also read the next point.

Advisories

All of our chains have been hand selected for their style and beauty but also with durability in mind. Our ready to weld collection has been deliberately selected to allow for endurance within reason.
The chains are delicate and fine so that, under extreme force, we can ensure your safety and hope that the bracelet/necklace will break under duress. Under 16’s will be limited to this. (Our ready to weld styles are Lovelink,
Celebration, Festival, Confetti, Mini classic & Mini moments.)

Our Endless chains are a more heavier-weighted choice which naturally means it will withstand a lot more force. These chains are visibly a more impactful jewellery piece, but it needs to be known that
these come with advisories. We can’t guarantee that the chain or the weld joint would give way if subject to enough force. The same is true of a wedding ring.

Yes we do! Most of our chains are available as anklets, please see the chain menu for choice and price, and also please specify if you’d like an anklet instead of bracelet when you book.

Our trained welded jewellery consultant will take you through the consultation form and the process. Then it’s the fun part of selecting your chain and any charms or connectors! The chain is measured to you and we fit and check for comfort. After safety checks we weld. The welded spot is finally cleaned and polished and we provide aftercare advice.

Your appointment will take approximately 20- 30 minutes, but longer if there’s more than one person or a number of charms/ connectors.

We recommend you take a look at the chain menu. If you know what chain or charm you would like, please let us know- that way we can ensure we allocate them beforehand.

At the launch of this service we cannot predict demand on
the various types of chain and we cannot guarantee that the chain you want will be available- so please call or email before to guarantee your preference.

As mentioned, if you have any health conditions or concerns
we’d be happy to discuss this before your appointment, equally if you may require a larger size of chain for the wrist or ankle please let us know beforehand.

We will ask you in the consultation but if you have any questions or concerns you can also contact us prior to your appointment. There
may be skin afflictions that could make permanent jewellery unadvised, or other
conditions that might be triggered by the flash of light generated in the

Permanent jewellery requires a level of care to keep it looking
its best. 

-Avoid regular contact with perfumes, body lotions and other chemicals

-Be mindful while engaging in activities that might result in
yanking or tugging the chain with force

-Clean it regularly with a jewellery cleaning foam or cloth to help maintain and restore its lustre

What if I need to remove the bracelet?

As much as we love the concept of permanent jewellery there are times when this may need to be removed. A pair of nail clippers will do the trick for our more delicate chains- please look for the jump ring (the loop of metal) where the weld is positioned and cut there. If you have a thicker style of chain, we’d be happy to remove this in store for you, and if desired, it can be re-welded at a later stage. As with the airport security, solid gold and silver do not have any impact on an MRI scan due to the fact that they are not magnetic. However most medical professionals will ask that all clothing and jewellery be removed.

Within three days – 

If you experience any issues within 3 days of purchasing your welded jewellery, the following should explain your options;

-Chain and/or charm loss- a refund or replacement will be offered.

-Chain break at weld point- re-weld free of charge or replacement if needed.

-Chain brake along the chain- we need to see it to assess this. If we determine to be manufacturer fault then refund is available alongside replacement or repair. 

-Dislike/changed mind, we can remove it free of charge. Unfortunately we cannot issue a refund in this case as bracelets and anklets are made to measure and bespoke.

Within two weeks – 

-Chain break at weld point- re-weld free of charge or replacement if needed.

-Chain break along the chain- we need to see it to assess this. If we determine to be a manufacturer fault then a refund is available alongside replacement or repair. 

-Dislike/changed mind, we can remove it free of charge. Unfortunately we cannot issue a refund in this case as bracelets are made to measure and bespoke.

-Length adjustment needed- we can adjust but a charge may be applicable.

After two weeks- Standard manufacture guarantees apply. 

My bracelet has broken….

We can repair/ reweld. If it’s been caught/ pulled it would be chargeable, if it is deemed a manufacturers fault then your statutory rights apply.

 I’ve lost my charm…..

Sadly there’s no way of determining whether the loss was caused by a pull/tug or an ineffective weld. We test every weld before you leave the store to ensure it is joined. Unfortunately we cannot offer a refund in these cases.
